Wasting Time on Moral Matters?

Wasting Time on Moral Matters?

Rudy Oeftering, of the sodomite organization, “Metroplex Republicans,” tells us that Texas Republicans should not make homosexual immorality a part of their platform.

He objects to this Republican affirmation of morality: “We affirm that the practice of homosexuality tears at the fabric of our society and contributes to the breakdown of the family unit. Homosexual behavior is contrary to the fundamental, unchanging truths that have been ordained by God, recognized by our country’s founders and shared by the majority. . . .”

Why does Oeftering think that moral issues should be eliminated from Republican concerns? Would he welcome those who commit pedophilia, polygamy, bigamy, or bestiality to be part of the Republican cause?

Does he forget that God forbids homosexuality (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) and nature itself teaches against this sin of perversion (Romans 1:26-27)? George Washington discovered a sodomite soldier in his Continental Army and immediately dismissed him. He looked on it with “Abhorrence and Detestation.” Thomas Jefferson went so far as to recommend “dismemberment” as punishment for sodomite perversion. All fifty states had laws against the practice of sodomy and several of them declared that it was a capital offense.

No, the Republican cause is not outdated or unrealistic.

[We must stress that our writing here doesn’t in any way say that we endorse all that Republicans–whether in Texas or nationally–stand for. As Christians, we are apolitical.]
