Trusting in the Storm

When storm clouds rise along the way
Still I would onward trod,
Never fearing from day to day
But trusting in my God.

The winds may blow, the lightning fall,
And help is all unknown;
Though thunder roars at midnight hour
I’ll trust in God alone.

So in our lives when storms arise
And human hope grows dim,
Still God is near to sympathize–
I’ll wholly trust in Him.

We cannot rest on man below
For he is only dust,
But God who made us understands–
In Him we safely trust.

Through Christ the dark of night will break
Into the light of day,
So hope and lift your eyes above
And trust His perfect way.

The morning sun will shine again
And spread its radiant light;
Remember God’s own counsel true:
“We live by faith, not sight.”
