Transexualism?

In the last few years we have probably all heard or read of this term so it is not really a guess. Transexualism means that one has taken the opposite sex from what he or she actually is. In other words, a “trans” woman is actually a woman who acts like a man and even says that she is a man but remains a woman. Conversely, a “trans” man is actually a man who acts like a woman and says that he is a woman but remains a man.

Let’s look the term up in the dictionary, Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary. Under “transgender” we read: “Of, or relating to, or being a person (as a transsexual or transvestite) who identifies with or expresses a gender identity that differs from the one which corresponds to the person’s sex at birth.” Under “transsexual” we read: “a person who strongly identifies with the opposite sex and may seek to live as a member of this sex esp. by undergoing surgery and hormone therapy to obtain the necessary physical appearance (as by changing the external sex organs).”

This, of course, is what the term “transgender” means. We know, of course, that God not only frowns on this sin but that he hates it. He has made a man to be a man and a woman to be a woman. As Scripture (the Word of God) says: “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27). In other words, God made a man and He created a woman. The man was called Adam and the woman was called Eve.

Those who insist on “transgenderism” (“trans” as a shortened form) sadly are violating a very, very basic teaching of God’s Word. When God says that He made a man to be a man and a woman to be a woman, He meant it. This means that in our own day, God would forbid a man to think that he is a woman and would forbid a woman to think that she is a man. We realize that a man may THINK that he is a woman and a woman may THINK that she is a man, but, of course, they are wrong—dead wrong. God says that a man is a man and a woman is a woman.

In this strange world, we know that there are some genetic issues that would complicate things. I don’t know if this would be 1% of the population, or 0.1% of the population or whatever the case may be, and in such cases, there would need to be medical attention and help. With God’s help, of course, we could deal with this and they could too. Transgenerism is not God’s will and it can and must be conquered.

Therefore, those educators and professionals and medical people who would acquiesce to this sin must be overcome by the strength and power of God. It is absolutely wrong and sinful for us to agree with these “experts” who would pander to this sin or agree with it. In America and other “developed” countries, sadly, we must say that they have accepted this “lie” of the enemy and are agreeing with a harmful issue.

May God help us to overcome this lie and go on with victory. If there is any man or woman, boy or girl, who has been hoodwinked by such as deception, we must help them to extricate themselves from this and find the victory that only God can give them in Christ!
