We have generally, in the past, referred to this as the “feminist” movement but I read an article in the encyclopedia that called this the “Women’s Movement.” Let us now discuss this quite generally.

Those you who have followed us over the years and know our stance, as Christians, regarding feminism, will know that this is something that you and we must confront on a daily basis. If you are living in this world, and especially in Europe and in America we do face this and must deal with it as you go about your daily lives.

We actually are amazed at the massive rebellion that we see all around us. We don’t just refer to 20% or 50% or even 90% of people, but large numbers of people are in rebellion against what God says in Scripture regarding the proper God-given roles of women. I just invite you to read such passages as 1 Corinthians 11:3; 1 Timothy 2:12-15; and Titus 2:4-5 (among other scriptures) and see if you can possibly get anything else from them.

We must point out that this doesn’t merely go back 500 or 300 years, or 250 or 200 years but we are referring to the past century or two. The “Women’s Movement” is a relatively recent event that continues today and has accelerated in the past several decades. Probably 90% of both men and women would agree with what we have said. But unless the childbirth rate is much greater, we find no cessation of this at all.

Today, this has got out of hand and is accelerating. We find that feminism is gaining a foothold and it seems that there is no letting up. This is the way it is in America and Europe as well as Asia and other countries. Can it and will it end or even be reversed or continue unabated in the future?

For example, will women become housewives again? Will they cease their advanced schooling? Will they cease speaking in the assembly/church or in society? Will they begin to obey their husband or be submissive to their husband? Will they have children—many children—rather than cease having children after one or two babies? These are questions that we ask and must ask for they do deal with what Scripture says and not merely what I or any other man or woman says.

Yes, whether it is an encyclopedia, a magazine, TV, or the computer, a book, the radio, or in actual life, or any other venue, women have usurped the role of the man and the man has abdicated to the woman! We certainly don’t want to be chauvinist here, but we simply repeat what God has revealed in Scripture. The question we must ask is, what does Scripture say? What does God want and require not merely in our age but 100 years, 200 years, and earlier years ago? The “Women’s Movement” is evil and comes from the enemy of our soul. This is what God says, what His Word says, and what our own conscience says. Will you obey?
