We probably many of you wonder what such a statement may mean. In what sense will sin “find” us out? By the way, a short while ago, an elderly man confessed to a murder that he committed years ago. Supposedly the world marveled at the revelation. Although (as I understand the situation), he didn’t personally commit the killing but was with those who did. Finally, this dastardly deed was being found out and presumably there will be some sort of punishment.
And so we return to our originally worded question: In what sense, will others “find out” about our past sins? Scripture says, “Be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23). As one source says, “For the punishment of sin, which sooner or later will find out and come upon the impenitent and unpardoned sinner.” Others did not know, but God knew all along what sin a person had committed and one day people and God will divulge the sin.
There was a popular song as follows:
In the Bible we are told
Of a day that soon will come
When the people of this Earth
Will be gathered at God’s throne
When you stand before His throne
There for all the world to see
Will He say well done
Where will you be

Are you prepared to meet God and give an account? Now is the time. Yes, it may be today. It may be tomorrow. And it may be many years from now, but Jesus is coming and our own death is fast approaching. Are we prepared at this time? Sin is real and the statement in the article above will touch us. Sin will find us out if we are unprepared. We must face God in judgement—either to be rejected or to be accepted. Which will it be?
