Some of you may not even know of the precise definition of “pluralism.” This is a term that may mean, according to one dictionary, “The holding of two or more offices or positions . . . at the same time.” In Christianity, this would mean that various religions are of equal value to God. Is this true?

By “pluralism in action” we refer to the attitudes that would accept people from all religions on earth as being equal. If there is a “God” or “god” He would surely approve of this wide definition. These non-Christian and “opposing arguments” that are “falsely called ‘knowledge’” must rejected on the grounds of truth (see 1 Timothy 6:20).

I just laid aside an advertisement (that I responded to) that has maybe 8 photos of some of the most liberal, blasphemous and evil people in journalism and the writing field—and in the political and speaking realm. We refer to such well-known personalities as Gloria Steinem, Barack Obama, Harry Belafonte, Nancy Pelosi, Sarita Gupta, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and Dan Rather. They would be excellent representatives of a liberal and Pluralistic mindset.

Just today I saw something that claimed that there was “good” in “all religions.” It showed many examples, especially of young but also of old, and their altruistic ways. They “helped” others in some way and it was interesting. Yes, we can gratefully admit that people in the present world’s religions may do “”good” in a measure, but are they really “good” and “kind” from God’s standpoint? After all, since He created all and sustains all, He is the final judge (Acts 17:24-28; Romans 2:2).

For example, we read the words of God, our Creator: “You shall have no other gods before Me” (Exodus 20:3; cf. Deuteronomy 5:5). Is this true? We know that it is. There must be no other “gods” before the true and living God. He disallows this and forbids it. Thus, we know that those who would believe in and make other “gods” and worship them (Matthew 4:10) are not only wrong but they defy God and neglect His will.

They offend Him and reject Him. Whether we are speaking of one billion Hindus or others, if this is a chief sin, we must say that Hindus practice this chief sin and are “worthy of death” and are under “the judgement of God” (see Romans 1:32 and 2:1-2).

We must see this sin (for example) in the light of truth and righteousness. We must see idolatry for the horrific sin that it is. And we must see that those who practice this are worthy of death (according to Scripture). We know that so many in this country and other nations reject God (if they even believe in Him at all), but do we go beyond this and consider these people—some of whom may be friendly and kind—as worthy of death?

Let’s go beyond Hinduism here. We know that there are some Catholics, Roman Catholics, who worship God by means of images or statues. Although they may honestly believe that this is right and the thing to do, those who value Scripture know that this is an abomination to the Lord. We know that Mary (who is no longer a “virgin”), Joseph, and a hundred other Catholic “saints” are false and wrong.

We can see from this that pluralism, in all of its various kinds, are false and wrong and to be condemned. We know that these dear people (at least a few of them) may be kind, friendly and winsome, but they are wrong and under God’s wrath. “Pluralism” is false and “pluralism in action” is doubly false and must be rejected by the devout follower of Jesus. Pluralism in action would be that belief that would accept other religions and act upon this.

Will you reject this false view of reality, along with me, and follow Christ alone?
