Richard Hollerman
We are writing of millions, tens of millions, even hundreds of millions, of people here in the United States. Presently there are many militant Muslims in Gaza and Lebanon and elsewhere (such as Syria and especially Iran) who want to defeat and destroy Israel (that we know as the Jewish homeland). Besides these places, others have joined the Muslims in their opposition to Israel, despite their killing, raping, and slaughter of many Israeli citizens and military people.
These anti-Jewish militants or terrorists, are ones whom we find in Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Yemen, and elsewhere and they are “on the war path” against the tiny nation of Israel. Many American universities have joined the chorus of death, such as the University of Chicago, Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, and many others. It would seem that there are no bounds to this opposition.
Of course, it is not that we are siding with Israel–for they are a godless entity too. And, of course, we know that Muslims are a godless entity themselves. Both of these factions are far from God and surely the future will show this beyond measure.
But here we are merely saying that these groups (whether the different factions of Islam or the different factions of Judaism) are not at all embraced by God Almighty. The future will bear this out, of course, and in the meanwhile we must juggle between one group and another, both of whom are fighting each other.
The technologically-advanced civilization of Judaism and the large majority of Muslims, we know that there were massive disregard for each other. And, sadly, both don’t know how far they are from the Living God!
We know that many hundreds of thousands have now been killed on both sides of this war. The “war path” continues and we wonder when and how it will end. Or it may never end! This has gone on for many centuries now and there is no end in sight. As we said above, many thousands have now died and many more have been injured. The “hospitals” must now be filled! We know that one hospital has now been leveled!
And so we say, when will it end? When will people come to their senses! We assume that the Muslims who murdered and butchered so many, might blame the Israelis, but they would probably blame the other. And so it goes on. The world (as a whole) would blame Israel for the slaughter. And Israel (and their allies) would blame the terrorists for the murder and mayhem.
This is why we have mentioned again and again, that Christians—true Christians—would hold to a non-resistant view. They would say that outsiders (unbelievers) are wrong and would be guilty of mass evil. This is one reason why I, personally, took the position I did during the last major war and kept my hands off the brutality and evil of the bloodshed of the atrocity around me.
Jesus knows best as He always has and He will do what is right. Let us trust in Him and do His will regardless of what others may think and do. It was Scripture that said, “Never pay back evil for evil to anyone” and “leave room for the wrath of God” (Romans 12:17, 19). God knows what He is doing and He will always do what is right.
