We know that in this world of about nine billion people, there is much confusion and many ideas. Not only are there many religions of numerous sorts but some believe there is no God at all. Further, there are many different lifestyles that vie for our attention and complete for our devotion. What are we to do? What are we to believe? We know that all nine billion people can’t be right!

One single area is worthy of our attention at this time. For example, what are we to think of the sexual lifestyles and sexual views of many people? We will not even deal with the bizarre views of millions of people in the world and their religious affiliations, but in America we would ask, “How are we to view the many evils around us?”

For example, let’s look at some of the popular sexual sins and focus on several of them. We are referring to the currently-popular sins of transgenderism, homosexuality (in its various forms), as well as fornication, adultery, pederasty, pedophilia, and the like. Just how prevalent are these sexual aberrations? By the way, we are aware that many of those who contend for a more wholesome sexuality are themselves aberrant and sinful. Further we know that there are a vast number of ways that people can be sinful and in need of God’s salvation and sin if only one of them is committed.

Especially since it is much in the news of our Western World, let’s notice what has come to be “transgenderism.”  Of course, the “trans” means that there is a transfer of one to another and “genderism” refers to whether this is a female or male. In other words, this refers to a person who is a man (a male) but seeks to be a woman (a female) and thinks of himself as such. The same would be true of a woman who seeks to be a male or a man and portrays herself as such.

Sadly, multiple hospitals and doctors are involved in this bizarre and evil practice. And when it comes to the “sex change procedure” and “gender care,” we know that the latter is a lie—a terrible and evil lie.  Just how doctors (physicians) can justify this, we wonder, in light of the fact that they are to do “no harm” to another person.

We all know that God created men to be men and women to be women. This is written in every cell of their bodies. The DNA testifies to this. God made them, “male and female” (Genesis 1:27). Thus, we wonder how professing health organizations can justify seeking to “change” the gender that a person was born with. Surely God must consider this a monumental sin, yet we know that millions of evil Americans and others seek to justify procedures that would change a person’s appearance and behavior.

Even though numerous people would seek to justify this “change,” we know that only about 0.6% or 1.6 million of people in America do this. And there are about 1 to 8% of people who have “detransititioned.” This seems like a high number, even if America has become the “capital” of the world regarding this bizarre situation, but it is still high.

Now what about sodomy? We know that some object to this term, preferring the more common terms “homosexuality” and “lesbianism” and this may be permissible in certain cases, but since this is a wicked sin, we prefer and use the more pejorative and realistic term, “sodomy,” to describe this sin. Of course, this comes from the renowned sin of Sodom in the Old Testament. It is a sin that God abhors and any perpetrator must renounce this sin to be saved.

We have learned that 3.5% of the American public have participated this this sin. Obviously, it is much more prevalent in the United States than in the other countries of the world. In fact, certain African countries have declared this sin to be a capital offense, and they execute those caught with this on their record.  Not only Africans, the Middle Easterners, and others have seen the evil of this orientation and practice, but many other also have. Some 0.3% of adults have been homosexuals and 3.5% are known to be sodomites today. This would be of the nine million adults—a very large number indeed! While this number is higher in America than in other nations of the world, we know that this number is high and to be deplored.

According to statistics, more woman are sodomites than men (some call them “lesbians,” after the evils off the coast of Greece on the infamous island, although the number of men is high as well. It would seem that the Biden administration is particularly guilty of this sin. Recently, the president presided in a “sodomite” “pride” event. (Along with this, he promoted nudity and “transgenderism” at the same event.) Further, one of his cabinet members (Buttigeig) is a known sodomite, living with and having sex with another man. And even the press secretary (from Haiti and Jamaica) is a known sodomite and lives with another woman. We refer to Karine Jean-Pierre. (We are quite negative to a woman taking two names such as this.) Thus, we know that this is a fully-accepted sin and evil lifestyle in today’s world of America—particularly in Democrat political circles.

The Lord Jesus said that God made male and female, men and women, in the beginning. (Matthew 19:4-6.) Those who commit sodomy are to be executed for both men and women are to be content with the way God created them and not with the evils of sodomy (Romans 1:24-28). As Scripture says, no homosexual will inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) but will burn in hell forever (Revelation 21:8).  (See also Galatians 5:19-21; Colossians 3:5-7; Ephesians 5:5-6).

You may wonder about the common sin of fornication. Some would even object to this term, preferring “premarital sexual intercourse” or “premarital sex,” but we would prefer (especially in this place) to refer to fornication. It is a sin, condemned throughout the Scriptures.

We refer to the numerous places where God condemns this practice of one man committing sex with the wife of another man (or one woman committing sex with the husband of another woman). Such passages and condemnations are found throughout Scripture. We think of Matthew 5:31-32; 19:4-12; Mark 7:21; 10:11-12; Luke 16:18; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; chapter 7; and others.

As one source says, “Surveys find solid disapproval of adultery in every country, yet technology and social media, modern lifestyles and flexible gender roles, films and news reports about affairs of politicians and celebrities made the activity more visible worldwide.” We find it interesting that everyone seems to frown upon and disapprove of adultery (and hence formication), we find it being practiced—for certain reasons.

Think of these reasons, for instance. We find that sin or evil perpetrate this sin of adultery and fornication. These influences may be technology, social media, modern lifestyles, flexible gender roles, films and news reports, the activity of politicians and celebrities all contribute to this sin. The quoted article says that “historically, most cultures consider the behavior immoral, and religions impose still penalties, we discover that “75 percent of respondents regard adultery as morally unacceptable.” (See yaleglobal.yale.edu/center/world-agrees-adultery-while-prevalent-wrong).

We read that “more than 75 percent of respondents regard adultery as morally unacceptable.” “Ostracism and consequences vary from country to country. Severe punishments have largely vanished in more industrialized nations, with the exception of 2 US states, no longer consider the activity a crime.” “Marriage is no longer the permanent or scared institution it was a century ago.”

We read further: “Historically, most cultures consider the behavior immoral, and religions imposed stiff penalties including death.” This opposition would be from Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Confucianism. Some countries, such as Pakistan, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and Somalia, would continue to consider adultery still a crime punishable by various means. 78 percent of married people having an adulterous “affair” would be considered morally wrong. More men than women admit to having sex outside of marriage. In the United Kingdom, some 15 percent of men and 9 percent of women admit to having committed this sin of adultery. In China, 14 percent of men and 4 percent of women have this sexual activity! (Source: See above.) Adultery can have devastating effects on marriages, including families, careers, and even political aspirations, including divorce. “Extramarital affairs can impose serious emotional effects on spouses, children and other family members.”

This adulterous affect has been exacerbated by various factors, such as technology—the internet, mobile phone messaging and cameras, social networking and pornographic websites, etc. The writer that is cited above says: “The institution of marriage and its meaning has changed markedly since the mid-20th century. Marriage is no longer the permanent or sacred institution it was a century ago with increased incidence of premarital sex, cohabitation, divorce, separation, remarriage, blended families, single parenthood and individualistic social values and expectations. Most people across the globe continue to regard adultery as morally unacceptable and just plain wrong….” (Ibid.)

Of course, we know that God says that not only adultery is wrong but pre-marital sex or fornication is wrong and unacceptable. Both are wrong (see Hebrews 13:4). Both are sinful. And both will lead to hell (see Revelation 21:8; 22:15). Although the world still may consider adultery as “unacceptable” and “wrong” we know that the Lord would condemn both. And both have terrible effects on men and women, on life here and life hereafter. (And on children, society, and the wider culture, we might add.)

Thus, whether we speak of the sin of “transgenderism” which has become popular and acceptable—but dreadfully wrong and sinful—in the Western World. Or homosexuality (and we prefer to use the Biblical term “sodomy”) is wrong but growing in acceptability. Or fornication and adultery (still considered unacceptable and wrong, even in the Western World). Or any other sexual deviation or perversion (e.g. pedophilia, pornography, etc.), we know that God considers all of this as wrong and unacceptable. Only a single relationship with God will do. Only life with His blessing will do. Only patterning our life according to His will and Word will do. Everything else (including the multitude of aberrations) are wrong.
