God, Give Us Christian Homes!

Many of you probably have a longing for a truly “Christian” home. By this we mean a home in which the father is honest, pure, and loving. The mother is kind, patient, submissive, and true. The children are obedient, godly, generous, and trusting. Sadly, there are not many families like this.

When we were married (late in life for me), we were not able to have offspring. But this is what I had wanted. I recall that in our wedding reception, I had this song sung. I can barely hear it without weeping. I hope that it affects you like this. And I hope that you are young, just beginning a family and able to allow Jesus to be the very center of your home! Read over these words, carefully and deliberately. May God bless you in this!.

1. 1. God, give us Christian homes!

      Homes where the Bible is loved and taught,

      Homes where the Master’s will is sought,

      Homes crowned with beauty Your love has wrought;

      God, give us Christian homes;

      God, give us Christian homes!

      May God give you a home in which each member loves and follows God’s Word. May this be the guiding light of the home. May the father and mother always read, love, and believe the Bible!

   2. God, give us Christian homes!

      Homes where the father is true and strong,

      Homes that are free from the blight of wrong,

      Homes that are joyous with love and song;

      God, give us Christian homes;

      God, give us Christian homes!

      This is the way it should be! Let there be a father who is strong, true, faithful, and pure, and where love and joy fills every day!

   3. God, give us Christian homes!

      Homes where the mother, in caring quest,

      Strives to show others Your way is best,

      Homes where the Lord is an honored guest;

      God, give us Christian homes;

      God, give us Christian homes!

      May this be your desire and commitment. Let the wife/mother be caring and loving. May she be true to her husband, caring for her children, and true to the Lord!

   4. God, give us Christian homes!

      Homes where the children are led to know

      Christ in His beauty who loves them so,

      Homes where the altar fires burn and glow;

      God, give us Christian homes;

      God, give us Christian homes!

      Let your children come to know God and love Jesus, the Head of the home! May they look on Him as their Friend, Savior, and Lord! And may prayer to the Lord be central to the family! Let our homes truly be “Christian” homes totally and fully! RH
