Creation and the Christian Views?
Bible believing schools, seminaries, Universities and Christian Colleges
We believe that the issues of creation and evolution are far, far more important than any of us can imagine. Creation refers to the way that God brought the world and all things into existence. And evolution would be the view that says that all things “evolved” from lower forms into what we see today. They really are incompatible worldviews but it seems that the world is divided into both camps. Which one are you?
When we say that this is far more important than we can imagine, let’s remember that if the Word of God teaches that God created all things and the secular view is that everything came into existence only through evolution, then the world is wrong and those who believe this “lie” will perish. On the other hand, if all things came into being some 14 billion years ago through a slow process of evolution, we know that God is wrong and the Bible is wrong. This is serious but this is what we are dealing with regarding origins!
We know that a school can be evaluated in many different ways. We can judge such schools by their commitment to truth, by their view of Biblical doctrine in general, or by their conservative view of lifestyle. Much depends on how a school views God’s truth and what they do with it.
Such a school can also be judged by a school’s view of creation in contrast to evolution. We know that in our day, the commitment to Biblical truth is at least partly dependent on the other teachings they embrace. One of the major aspects today would be “young earth” perspective. Of course, some may say that 6,000 years is not really a “young earth” view, but actually it is far “younger” than 3,000 or 4,000! And, of course, it is far different from those who say that the universe is some 14 or 15 million years old! Obviously, this figure is somewhat ridiculous!
As we went over this list of “Creation” colleges and universities, we are thankful for the list. However, there are many, many groups that teach massive false doctrines along with creation. In other words, as you view the following list, we must admit that many or most (or all) of the schools listed also teach false doctrines. Thus, this list is not perfect at all. In fact, we know that it can be somewhat dangerous.
Why do we say this? Because if someone assumes that if a given college is solid and accurate on the age of the earth, they may conclude that the school is also accurate and truthful on other matters. This is not at all the case. As we have said, there are many false doctrines being promulgated by these schools. But the list is merely meant to show that there are schools that are sound regarding creation even though they may be false regarding other doctrines.
If you were to plan to go to college or the university, which one would you choose? And why? Or, we might word it this way: If you had a son or daughter and wanted him or her to go off to college (which would be a foolish more, we might add),which one would you choose? There are many to choose from and this choice might have far-reaching or even eternal consequences.
