Professing “Christians” who don’t Know God in the Ukraine and in Russia
We would like to ask you about your view of professing “Christians” who apparently don’t know God and the forgiveness of their sins. However, they must think that they do. Or perhaps and even more likely they don’t have an idea at all about what salvation is—other than what their deluded “priests” or “pastors” have mistakenly told them!
If you are like me, you may be following the war in the Ukraine. I don’t follow it closely or every day but I definitely know that there is a war happening and Russia has instigated and continued it.
From what we’ve read, some 41.46 million people live in this little-known country that lies to the west of the much more populated country of Russia. This would be 0.66 percent of the world population. (https://tradingeconomics.com/ukraine/population).
On the other hand, Russia is much larger, with 145.20 million, about 4 times the size of “tiny” Ukraine. The “problem” that we see and apparently others have also seen is that 40 million and 145 million people—all think that they are saved. They think that they are “Christians” (actually “Orthodox”). Are they saved? Are they forgiven? Have they been born again? Do they truly belong to God?

If you have perused God’s Word, you know something of His will regarding the Lord Jesus and how to come to Him for His rich forgiveness. If you have read this website you also are aware of what God teaches regarding how to be saved. (See www.Truediscipleship.com) Thus, we see a contradiction—and we assume that you have seen it too. In fact, it is glaring!
We don’t just refer to the fact that the Orthodox Church is strong in both of these countries. We have the Russian Orthodox Church and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. We refer to the fact that, generally speaking, nearly all of the people in both Russia and the Ukraine are lost! They are without hope. They are not born again, of water and the Spirit. They have not been forgiven. But they all (most all of them) assume that they are right with God and on the way to heaven! In reality, if they were to die tonight or today, nearly all of them are lost and without hope!
How can this be? We have addressed this topic several times in the past. Please check www.Truediscipleship.com. Here we see a strange but deadly phenomenon—two nations think that they are right with God. However, they are not right with each other and they (in addition) are not right with God! Both of them are lost.
Nearly every day we learn that nearly 200 million people think that they are prepared to meet God and go to heaven but nearly everyone is lost and unprepared to meet God! These people (the population of both countries) apparently don’t like each other and fight against each other. You may reply that this is not what true Christians do—and you are correct.
We encourage you and if there are people in either Russia or the Ukraine we encourage all of you to turn to Christ and find His forgiveness in Christ. We encourage all to turn to God and lay down your life to receive God’s forgiveness through Christ. Come to God now. Lay aside your Orthodoxy (we here refer to the religion of Orthodoxy, a step away from Catholicism) and find your forgiveness, your regeneration, your life, and your security in Christ—and in Christ alone!
