In Isaiah 5:20-21 we read of those who “call evil good and good evil,” who “call evil good and good evil,” who “substitute darkness for light and light for darkness,” who “substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter” and “those who are wise in their own sight and clever in their own sight.”

We may think of this in regard to this upside-down world and perverted age in which we live. Of course, I refer to believers in God, who have a claim for truthfulness and not the wicked who view things otherwise.

We are aware that not everyone views truth that is the factual Word of God and live by this. Many reject God’s will and insist on their own will and  word for this. I must think of this regarding the article that I just read.

Interestingly, many in this fallen world see the moral stance as more godly than others. The article said that the atheistic Communist Chinese and ungodly Orthodox Russians (also Communist) are more “godly” than others—at least in this one respect! The article said that these wicked countries do have a moral stance or sorts that put Western countries to shame.

President Putin (who is responsible for so much mayhem and evil in this country and world) would see the perverted American culture as one that opens the door to sexual immorality as wrong and worthy of condemnation. This, of course, is a right assessment, even though we would want to rightly condemn these perverted and evil nations.

On the other hand, these evil dictatorships holding to a moral stance that condemns the immoral venues of the United States and other countries of the “free world” is wrong and repressive.

There is something incongruous about this. Why should wicked countries hold to a more moral stance than does the immoral view of the Western world?

The article was referring to certain African countries (such as Uganda) that take a more moral stance even though they are not Christian in the true sense of the term. This is true of China, Russia, certain African countries, and Islamic regimes, but their own views are wicked and must be condemned. But America (that is, at least half of this country), Europe, and certain other “Western” countries, take a more moral view—in word only but, in reality, these countries are evil beyond measure. We must point out, of course, that President Biden is the personification of evil in America but this has also been true of presidents of the past and other ruling figures.

As I say, this is an incongruous view that we do not know how to solve! How would you, personally, handle it? Of course, we refer to those of you who are somewhat more moral than others and not wicked like many!
