This is so sad, so very sad. What more can we say about this issue? How can we begin to describe this painful and despicable atrocity?

We have heard that state after state (in America!) have now legalized abortion. We find this reprehensible! Let’s begin by saying that “Abortion” is a medical or socialistic term that is commonly used in scholastic discourse. Instead, we probably should use a more common and understandable term, that many states have now legalized the killing of babies!

Yet, even putting it this mildly may leave us mystified. First, we must realize that these states of which we write have ratified the murder of infant babies. But what shall we say about this? Surely these dear babies have gone to  a “better place” but this is a popular but mistaken choice of words. They must have gone to be with God. They may have been a day or  months old but still they must have been accepted by the Lord.

We know that theologically there may be a question about this. Augustine, for instance, thought and taught that infants who died would be lost, unless they were “born again” in baptism. Few listened to him and even the Catholic Church also rejected this, condemning the “murder” of babies. They may say that the baby is in “limbo” (a false teaching) but they can’t conceive that the child is in hell.

Let us return to the “abortion” debate and the present acceptance of this teaching in many states in America today! Yes, a number of states have accepted this heartless view including Ohio, Virginia and even Pennsylvania! Of course, such places a California, Illinois, and New York have long accept this, as evil as it is. And not to be outdone, we know that such “liberal” sates as Oregon, Washington, the north-eastern states, and others are now Pro-killing states! These too must be included in the pro-murder states!

The states that did approve this referendum did so with the approval and support of the State’s people. For example, the Governor of Virginia (Glen Youngkin), to appease the abortionists, held that there would be a 15 week ban on abortions in the state. But, as we understand the situation, this was not enough for the baby-killers and they insisted on murdering babies until birth itself!

We wonder. If the killing of a baby in nine months, it won’t seem preposterous that that if a child is killed during this time, it would not be considered murder in Virginia. Why not? (And, we might further ask, if the state were named after the “Virgin” Mary, why would a few weeks or months matter?) However there would be enough Muslims, Catholics, and the like to defeat abortion! (By the way, remember that Maryland was the only non-Catholic among the original 13 colonies.)

We know that there are millions of “Blacks” in the country. At last count there were some 1.5 million blacks in the state of Virginia and about 40 million blacks in America (in 2021), about 12.4% of the country (https://minorityhealth.hhs.gov/blackafrican-american-health). Until 1863 (when the “Emancipation Proclamation” went into effect), there were countless blacks that were opposed to the killing of babies!

Yet, we understand that 85% to 90% of blacks are members of the Democratic Party, which almost totally promotes the slaughter of children. Why is this? As we understand the situation, the commonly-held view that whites are responsible for the genocide of babies, seems to be questionable.

Are there not enough Catholics, Muslims, blacks, conservative Protestants, and others who would oppose this wickedness?

And we don’t simply refer to the 15-week ban or the man that Florida and DeSantis supports, but the 9 month support of abortion on demand! We must wonder why it is that some women demand the killing of their babies and say that they must have “control of their own bodies” when the baby is not part of their body! These would be two separate individuals—and not one. Why is this?

We further wonder where are the fathers and husbands in all of this? Generally (or as it should be) the wife and mother is not alone in this decision. Where are the fathers who oppose such murder? Who will restrain their desire of sex or fear of sex—and so would oppose the killing of babies? (Or are the fathers and husbands “complicit” in this murder?)

Why would there be a 15-week ban or longer—and not at birth? After all, if a man and his wife chose to have a baby why wouldn’t they see it through the period to the time of birth? In short, how can it be legal in the United States to kill a baby? If this is the “land of the free,” how can it be? In a country where all of the presidents would appear to be opposed (and couldn’t conceive otherwise) and surely would be opposed to the practice of murder, how can it be today? (We know that more recently, some presidents have accepted the killing of children—such as Biden, Obama, Clinton, etc., but in the beginning, this would have been unheard of!)

And so we wonder. How can this happen in America? We think that many in this world would say that we are “out of our mind” to even imagine this! If these baby-killers wound want to do such a heinous and wicked deed, we doubt that they would want to move to Russia, China, or elsewhere to do this evil work. Would they participate in this evil work? We wonder.

What do you think?
