Are You Prepared?

We know that we must be prepared in our day—prepared to meet whatever may come. We must be prepared to have dinner, prepared to take a job, prepared to go places, and prepared to meet certain people. If we are unprepared, we may miss out on important events!

Life and eternity is like this. We must be prepared to face God one Day and either be accepted by Him or rejected by Him. We can’t simply say that we’ll return when we are ready. God won’t accept this sort of excuse. We must meet God in Judgment whether we are ready or not. This is why Jesus declared, “Be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming” (Matthew 24:42). “The Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will” (v. 44).

Today I received a message that plainly and emphatically said that I was not to contact the woman again. In fact, she went s far as to forbid me to contact a close member of her family. I was not to have anything to do with “religion” (her term) in my communications. (We might think this was somewhat brazen for one person to speak of another’s spiritual condition or willingness to receive a Christian message). Yet we realize that people do speak about other’s spiritual condition and readiness.

Are you prepared? Prepared to meet God and have our life spread out before you? We can’t get away from this great meeting! It is something that we all must face one day—and that day will surely come muck quicker than we may imagine.

God, in His Word, says, “It is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). Friend, you will definitely die. There is no way to avoid this. Are you prepared? Prepared to die and meet God? Prepared to face the “Judge of all the earth” (Genesis 18:25b)? Are you ready to meet God in judgment?
