Angry over Murder!
Richard Hollerman
We’ve probably all read about Sodom and Gomorrah, the Dead Sea cities along the East Coast of Israel. To recall the account in Genesis 18 and 19, we learn that homosexuals rioted and surrounded the house where Lot and others were located. They demanded sexual relations with the two angel visitors and the outcome was that God brought blindness on these rioters and perverts. As we read the account, we see great disorder, tremendous tumult, and utter evil.
Let’s now return to the present. We’ve heard or read this morning that crowds in some of the largest cities of the nation have rioted and written graffiti on walls. Why? Why does it seem that so many are angry about the Supreme Court ruling that supposedly protects the unborn?
Why does it seem that so many are utterly intent on murdering babies? Again, we must ask, Why? We have addressed this previously, thus we need not go over it again. We assume that all of the mayhem is attributed to men although we suppose that women could also be involved. We also wonder why it seems that so much of the violence and rioting has occurred in places that apparently are untouched by the Supreme Court ruling.
We refer to places like Los Angeles, California (one of the most liberal and murderous states), Portland, Oregon (one of the most liberal of states where massive rioting occurred last year), Denver, Colorado (again, one of the most liberal cities in the country), and Washington State, perhaps Seattle (again, one of the more liberal cities and states).
There must be something that we are overlooking but we do wonder about these matters. Why so much anger—especially about the desire to kill babies? Why do we see so many protesting? Traditionally, mothers have protected their infants—and not had a desire to murder them. What have these major, liberal cities done?
Of course, we must not assume too much with this. From what we’ve read, a lot of this came from the incendiary speech by our liberal and evil president (President Biden) and it may be that this rioting would not have happened without this instigation. So whether we are speaking about the President himself, or Kamala Harris (a wicked, outspoken, and extremely-liberal Vice-President), or the liberal marchers themselves, we don’t know.
But again, we wonder about the rioting, the smashed windows, the painting of cars, the illegitimate decisions, and other signs of disrespect and mayhem. If it was men who did this, were they incensed about the inability to kill their own babies—but this protesting would need to be in other parts of the country (perhaps the more “conservative” ones—the ones who have somewhat more respect for life).
On the other hand, if women were involved, were they disappointed in the inability to murder their babies—the offspring of sexual immorality? Perhaps they have a problem with their continuing education and liberal agendas? Is this really the “freedom” that women want?
We realize that the government, the educators (such as teachers and professors), Hollywood, magazines, TV, newspapers, and a wide array of liberal influencers may have had something to do with leading people—especially young people—into this murderous liberal agenda. And we think that it is probably too late to stem the tide in this matter. Gone are the days that may have existed fifty, one hundred, or longer ago—when murder of babies was forbidden. (We know that this has been legal in the country since 1973 when the Supreme Court dealt with the decision to allow this murder was permitted!) Alas, there were many other evils in the country before the 1960s—such as murderous lynching, “Jim Crowe” laws, and others. This is so sad. And now the evils of murder are permitted!
Whatever the precise reasons that we may give as the background for this unlawful and evil rioting on the streets and sidewalks, we must see God’s hand in all of this. As we mentioned recently, we believe that there may be ways that God has and will be using all of this sin for His glory. As Scripture says, “The wrath of man shall praise You” (Psalm 76:10a).
In this present case, we know that the anger of the men or woman perpetrators will praise God! Even the bizarre and violent desire to kill babies will be one way that God will be glorified! In this wicked element of murder, killing, pillage, and unlawfulness, we know that God will have the last word!
