Richard Hollerman
Why is it that most people still don’t understand? We know that there may be nine billion people on earth. According to the “law of contradiction” we know that they all can’t be right. In fact, according to this “law” most people on earth can’t be right. They are wrong.
There must be thousands of different views on many subjects. In fact, there are many different religions on earth. We may think of Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Shintoism, Confucianism, Taoism, and numerous others. Surely they are all wrong (and sinful) or nearly all of them are. We find this depressing and sad. Most of these hapless people will be gone in 50 or 70 or 90 years. And they must meet “their Maker” and give an account.
Thus we must conclude that the vast numbers of people on earth are wrong and will be held accountable for their lives. Your friends, neighbors, accountancies, and relatives think that they are right but they are wrong! Most think that they are on the road of salvation and will receive eternal life but, sadly, they are wrong. Utterly wrong.
Even those who profess some sort of allegiance to “Christianity” may be wrong. Think of the Roman Catholics, the Orthodox (in the various forms), and the many forms of Protestantism. Yet we must conclude that these 2 or 3 billion people are wrong. By this we mean Anglicans, Methodists, Presbyterians, Lutherans, and many others can’t all be right. They all can’t be following the truth. Think of these ones above.
For example, most of the Anglicans, Methodists, Presbyterians, and Lutherans are wrong—utterly wrong. They may believe and follow many false ways. They believe in feminism, immorality (in its various forms), and other aberrations.
None of them really believe in immersion (baptism) of believers. They (most of them) accept the false doctrine of infant baptism. Yes, there are 3,000 or more people who adhere to false cults and churches, even those who believe in so-called adult or believer’s baptism. But the design and purpose of these baptisms/immersions may be utterly wrong.
This is one (among many) reason why these cults and churches may be wrong. They may be evil. And it is a reason why “pluralism” is wrong. It is not only wrong but ungodly. I can’t understand how this can be. How and why are Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Seventh day Adventists wrong? How can it be that thousands or millions of adherents can be mistaken and be wrong?
This is no small matter as you can imagine. If there are about nine billion people on earth presently, with a billion attached to a false group, where does this place us? And we are simply speaking of the ones alive today. Many more have gone in the past. And we know that these billions of people didn’t merely go to Limbo or Purgatory. No, according to God’s Word (the Bible) they have been undergoing conscious, continual, and eternal punishment. We might think of this as “hell” or “hades” but it is true nonetheless.
We may find this sad or grievous, but it is true. These people (whether they be friends, acquaintances, relatives, neighbors, or others) are and will eternally spend the future in hell. Sad as this may be it is true. We know that most do not dwell on this reality. They surely must think that all is well and they are on their way to heaven (or whatever name they give to it). They expect that the moment of death will be a glorious event or at least a less-than perfect. How many of these nine billion (perhaps 100 billion by now) think that they are going to a “better place” in the future?
Sadly, most are not prepared for the future and will be shocked with what God has in mind. Are you, personally, prepared for the future on God’s “calendar”? Will you be in shock? There will be no “second chances” or repeats for people.
This is what we read in God’s Word: “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:14a). After death comes, then comes the judgment of God. Are you prepared for this climactic and final event? Prepare now!
