As we understand the state of affairs around the world, we find a massive amount of turmoil and confusion wherever we look. Yes, sadly, we must say that chaos is around us, and we find that the world is “on fire” in many ways. In fact, the world is upside down in many ways.

Just today we learned that many, many countries are in the midst of a wicked onslaught that seemingly will not stop. We know that Christ’s return will put a stop to all of this but for now what are we to think?

The presentation that I saw today shows the devastation and evil in Peru, in Equator, in Columbia, as well as Mexico, Guatemala, and elsewhere. Then there was Israel, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Italy, Lebanon, and the Sudan. Let us not forget about the “hot spots” in the world—such as Russia, China, North Korea, Ukraine, Belarus, and Poland. Of course, there are many, many other nations under heaven as well. I understand that there may be 190 or 195 different countries in the world involved.

As we look at such countries (the focus of the documentary this morning was Equator), we find that the evil in these nations are not at all what God wants. He wants peace, love, tranquility, and agreeableness. Not the fighting, the greed, the evil, and the murder that we may find in some of these countries.

We may know that some of this comes from the greed and exploitation that we find there. The drug cartels, operating in these nations, and having ties with the wicked and idolatrous and atheistic country of China, as well as many other nations, such as Mexico, and elsewhere, have brought on this sort of chaos. Greed and covetousness may be the result, and we fear that the thousands involved in this chaos will bring eternal results. It may bring confusion, anarchy, and disorder now, but what about the eternal future?

So we look out upon a world, with some nine billion people, and surely most of them are lost. Most of them are in various false religions and do not know God. I know that this is true of the atheists, the agnostics, the Buddhists, the Catholics, the Orthodox, the Muslims or Islamists, the Hindus, and many others. And there are now thousands of professing Christians but they are all without God.

So we need not be in a Mexican, Chinese, Columbian, Peruvian, Ecuadorian, or other “drug cartel” place but this is true of many others in the world! This earth is filled with evil and we must remember that this wickedness comes from all around on this fallen earth. This is one reason that we have titled this article as “The Turmoil” in the world. It is in turmoil! The mayhem in this world is beyond description. It is found all around and it touches all of us.

In the United States, we find that there are hundreds or even thousands who die as a result of the confusion all around us. There are now nine to ten million illegal immigrants and “Got aways.” The jails and prisons are full. The schools are full of this evil. Homes are wrecked because of it. Jobs are lost because of it. Homes are broken through it. Only Jesus can bring order out of disorder, and peace out of chaos.
