We have heard that there have been some seven million aliens who have entered the borders of America only in the past several years. These have been called “illegal aliens” for they are aliens who have entered this country illegally, unlawfully, or without proper documentation. The noun, “alien,” means (as a noun): “a foreigner, especially one who is not a naturalized citizen of the country where they are living. Further, as an adjective, the meaning would be: “belonging to a foreign country or nation.” (see the following dictionary: https://languages.oup.com/google-dictionary-en/.). In a country of about 332 million, this would be a huge number!
If we were to surmise that each of these illegals are met with five (5) persons, this would be 35 million, plus the original seven million, this brings us to 42 million “illegal” aliens in the country.
We know that some, who may be somewhat naïve in nature, might think that each of these 42 million persons will one day return to their homeland and “give up” to authorities. We understand that many of them now are bussed to various destinations. This was not just were they entered the country illegally.
But then we have additional problems. Since they are here illegally, we wonder about how seven or 42 million could go back to their homeland. And we understand that they may have made the illegal and terrorist Mexican “cartels” as much as seven or eight thousand dollars to come. Are they to find this much to return? And where would they go? After all, we understand that they come from 70 or 80 different countries!
Further, we wonder how can seven or 42 million find jobs when it is illegal to hire them? And even if they were to find employment, we wonder where they could work, when it is not only illegal to hire them but to have them work? We wonder too how they can obtain driver’s licenses. And if they only know one language (of the 70 different language places) and probably most would know Spanish, where could they find language help in a country that speaks English alone?
Further, we wonder about health care. We understand that hospital care will be given free to anyone (including illegal aliens) who has a need, but how is this to be paid? Regarding education, who is to educate these millions of children who only speak one language (probably Spanish) when the law says that every child must receive an education until age eighteen or so? Where do these millions of teachers come from?
Where do these people stay and with whom? Surely those who invite them cannot do it all. After all, homes are only so large and residences cannot accommodate millions of people. Further, if the U.S. government provides assistance, we wonder where the trillions of dollars will come from!
We also wonder about the families who were left in their home countries. What will happen to these millions of fathers, mothers, and siblings? And what will happen to the aunts and uncles and grandparents? If they can’t work, where do they go?
As followers of Christ, the Lamb of God, we wonder what we can do and what we should do. If we can’t find a place for them, if we don’t know their language, if we can’t provide work for them, and if we can’t break the law for them to work, then what? We want to do God’s will, but what would this be under these circumstances?
All of this would pose insurmountable problems but they are something that the illegal cartels care nothing about. Nor do those who pay for these services care about this either. We only know that there are now millions upon millions of illegal aliens and others who need education, healthcare, jobs, language skills, and so forth. Where can they find this?
We further wonder…. What about the millions who now need homes, who need jobs, and who need to do all things “decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40)? Further, if this happens to be the case for those who have “invaded” America, what about the many, many people in Asia, in Africa, in South America, and in other countries who die for lack of food and who need the necessities of life—just to stay alive?
We know that people need Jesus more than food, more than jobs, more than money, more than legality, and more than families. But where are they to find this? And what is the child of God to do?
We know that God brought His people as aliens into a land (of Israel) and gave them what was needed in their pursuit of God’s will and to follow His leading. Just how He could do this, we wonder and how we don’t know. But God knew and He knows now. He will do all things well and carry out His purposes rightfully and well.
