The Common Ways of Homosexuality

(Sodomy—What Has Changed?)

We know it as Sodomy (the traditional term). And it is often called “homosexuality.” In regard to a woman, the term is “lesbianism” (from the proverbial island off the Greek coast where sodomites lived). Today, in common parlance, we find the false and misleading term “gay” even though these sodomites or sexual perverts are not really “gay” (that means Happy).

But we wonder why it is in America, “the land of the free, and the home of the brave,” we find that over 50% of people seemingly are receptive to this sin. We know that most are not sodomites (for we understand, from research, that only 2 percent of people are homosexuals). But apparently many do support and promote this sin. Why is this?

Even in certain sectors of society sodomy is accepted without an opposition. Think of  Pete Buttigieg, the United States Secretary of Transportation. Or think of Anderson Cooper, the popular broadcaster. Or we might think of the older singer, Johnny Mathis, or the popular pianists (Liberachi and Van Cliburn), or the movie actress Anne Heche who died in the terrible auto wreck. Also, we might think of the British performer, Elton John. All of these sodomites seem to be totally accepted (or have been accepted) by the general American society without so much as a peep! So many more might have been mentioned!

Of course, we find many different factors involved in this. Here are a few of them:

First, we know that many (and perhaps most) of Americans and others around the world simply follow the trends of society. Whatever society believes and want is what others want! But is this right—or is it defective reasoning? (Let’s remember that millions one time thought that using tobacco was fine and to be “enjoyed”!)

Second, we know that people often believe that we are merely creatures with no destiny. Today, nearly all people believe in some form of evolution. They think that the world has been around for over 14 billion years, that humans sprang up some 3 million years ago, rather than the Biblical chronology of some 6,000 years.

Third, we know that in the past people did believe the Bible. Yet, in my research, unbelief goes back for centuries. Many believed in some form of evolutionary views a hundred years ago. By 100 to 150 years ago, all of the mainline seminaries had accepted the idea that humans arose spontaneously from pre-existing life forms.

Fourth, it is now illegal to teach creation—especially special creation—in the public schools. We are referring to all 50 states! And immorality is something totally accepted by vast numbers of people. Presently over 50% believe that sodomy is permissible—providing that people want it. Thus, sodomy (homosexuality or lesbianism) seems to be acceptable to a growing number of people. And the younger people are especially prone to accept this lie.

Fifth, when “no fault divorce” entered into society in 1969 (signed by President Ronald Regan, a decision that he later greatly regretted), there was a growing opposition against this. But now even presidents are remarried and accept the idea of divorce, remarriage, and all sorts of immoral stances. (We have known this in American leaders and in some national leaders in other parts of the world.) But there is not only remarriage, adultery, but sodomy. And, beyond this, we find even transgenderism acceptable to a growing number of people, especially the youth.

Sixth, not only does elementary and high school education find sodomy acceptable but if someone raises an objection, we find that they are either fired or silenced! Beyond this, colleges and universities generally teach that this aberrant lifestyle and deviant perversion is acceptable! (There are a few exceptions in that they are supported by religious establishments and do reject immorality)

Seventh, with the growing acceptance of sexual immorality among liberal denominations (happily there are a few who do not), we find that people are influenced toward this lifestyle with impunity.

Eighth, since the educational establishment has largely accepted sexual immorality (and evolutionary concepts), millions of children and youth are taught that sexual perversion is acceptable and even to be praised and pursued! No longer does the educators always promote sexual purity!

Ninth, we know that Hollywood, in the past, was largely under the sway of a “code” of some sort that regulated what came out of this evil place (that has always had a bad reputation). But when this code was dropped and Hollywood said that they would “self regulate” the content of their movies, resulted in all sorts of evil became rampant in society. We don’t just refer to outright pornography, but regular and decent (are there any?) ones also taught this evil.

Tenth, the government “jumped on the bandwagon” and began promoting evil, including all sorts of sexual deviations. Now it is deemed not only acceptable but anything that would promote decency is considered wrong and must be opposed! This is seen in many, many different societal standards.

Eleventh, if this is true of the United States of America, we also find it true of other places of the world. We refer to places like Europe and elsewhere. We gladly notice that places like China, Russia, the Middle East, and elsewhere that there is still strong opposition to perversion. (Of course, such countries have their own problems!) We even note that Uganda and other African counties even say that sodomy (or homosexuality) must be opposed and in some cases those who perpetrate and practice this immorality must be executed! (See below for the list of nations where sodomy is outlawed.) Interestingly, along with condemning this wickedness, at least some of these nations allow for all sorts of other immorality! (Cf. Romans 2:1-2)

Although more could be said, we do notice that in America (where once there would have been opposition to sexual deviations) we find a growing acceptance of this perversion. Even the so-called “founding fathers” of the American nation generally opposed sodomy and other forms of sexual immorality such as divorce and remarriage. Some rightly said that homosexuality or sodomy was a “sin against nature:!

Yes, we know that there was massive sin and evil in some ways (such as slavery, drunkenness, etc.) but here we are only speaking of sexual perversions.

Let us live for God, the Giver and Promoter of purity and normal sexuality. He is the One who created the first humans (Adam and Eve), the One who wiped out the human race at the great flood at Noah’s time (cf. 1 Peter 3:20; 2 Peter 2:5), and the one who has revealed His will in Scripture! Let us follow His design in the important area of normal sexuality and not the aberrations that we see increasingly in society and the world!
