An Amazing Feminist Speech
Richard Hollerman
I just noticed the press release on Jennifer Rene Psaki, the president’s press secretary for Joe Biden, the current United States President. I know that some of you will probably say that I should be more “hard boiled” or “hardened” about this sort of feminist activity, but I must say that I continue to be utterly distressed, aghast, and appalled with the speech and responses of this feminist woman whom many in America know.
We know what God says about feminist propaganda. We don’t pretend to understand all that Psaki or any other political leader or speaker may want to say but this kind of speech and activity is totally uncalled for. Why can’t the American public see this? Why do they refuse to understand this? Why does the American leadership agree to this utterly brazen speech and activity? Why is it that something so fundamental can be so totally disregarded by the American public—or the people of the world?
God, in Scripture, is utterly clear that a woman is not to have authority over the man (1 Timothy 2:9-15). We know that some feminists may say that it is just too hard to understand. They may accuse God and say that He should have been much more plain about these things. And we know that some may say that if the Lord had been clearer then they would have gladly complied with His Word. No, it is not like this at all. It is just as clear as it needs to be and He said it well. Why do we not see it?
God has said that a woman is not to speak in the assembly. If this is true regarding the congregation of God’s people, would it not also be true regarding the demeanor of women in general? This doesn’t say that the woman is not knowledgeable, is not capable, or is not capable of expressing herself. It is only saying that God has made His will known and it is up to us to see His reasoning and to comply with His wishes.
There are a dozen or two dozen passages in God’s Word that make it plain that a woman is not to take the lead over the man (1 Corinthians 11:3-16; 1 Timothy 3:1-8; 1 Peter 3:1-7). Does this make God into a misogynist? Of course not! We wouldn’t want to defame, disgrace, or slander the Almighty like this. Is it really that hard to understand and accept this truth? We think that this is not a matter of intelligence but a matter of willingness. It is not merely a matter of knowledge but of acceptance.
Let’s begin to treat God and His Word better! Let’s accept His will and refuse to compromise this will by refusing to yield to it. This is the only way! And it is the right way!
