Amazing but Vain NASA Plans

As you have probably heard or read, a space craft titled “Perseverance” has Mars as its destination. This exploration of Mars is part of a spectacular mars mission! They plan not only to explore this intriguing planet but they want to discover whether life ever existed at this location. They further want to find out whether life could be sustained there now and in the future. They say that the conditions are right for NASA to discover not only whether life did exist there but whether life could exist again. It is an exciting time for NASA and also for the United States space agency and for the entire country.

Sadly, this attempt at discovering the truth is not only vain but also evil. It is not the “truth” but “falsehood”! We know that in the beginning “God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1) and also that “lights” were placed in “the expanse of the heavens” which were intended to “give light on the earth” (Genesis 1:14-18). These heavenly bodies were intended by the Creator to give light on the earth and to reveal the majesty of God, the Creator.

We also know that life was created by God the Creator and this life testifies to a God who created such bodies (cf. Genesis 120-31). Sadly, the pagans who didn’t know God began to worship these heavenly bodies (cf. Romans 1:20-32). To use the words of Paul the apostle, “They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen” (v. 25).

Doesn’t all of this speak to the present situation? Today, as in the first century or those centuries before that time, people are worshiping the world and all that is in it rather than exclusively worshiping the Lord alone. God did not create life on Mars but people today (especially those with a scientific mindset) claim that this planet once did have life or at least had the conditions favorable for life. They would rather reject the idea that Yahweh God, some 6,000 years ago, created all things and profess the vain speculation that some four or five billion years ago life has been in this solar system and over 14 billion years ago the entire universe was brought into existence.

Life pertains to the earth and not to the far reaches of space, including Mars. As the psalmist says, “The heavens are the heavens of the LORD, but the earth He has given to the sons of men” (Psalm 115:16). Although people do vainly suppose that life existed on Mars, we know that life pertains to the earth alone.

If we were to point out to the scientists with NASA that they were degrading our Creator and violating the truth of creation by their wild speculations, what would they think? If we were to tell not only the scientists with this august organization but also those associated with the science department of the leading universities and the high schools, the editorial departments of National Geographic Magazine and Discovery Magazine, as well as the editorial staff of the national news organizations, what would they think? If we were to charge these influential and intellectual persons with bias, with wickedness, and with anti-God rhetoric, what would they think?

These unbelieving astronomers believe that possibly in the past, a vast ocean was to be found on this “red planet”! This is not presently there for everything is dry and baron. There is no signs of life! And these men and women who oppose the Creator simply do not have the means of discovering what existed in the past (by past, they imagine millions of years ago!).

Thankfully, we are grateful for the millions of people in America and many others in other countries who still believe in God as Creator and firmly hold to the idea that He made the world relatively recently (some 6,000 years ago) and that God created all things for His glory! We agree with Holy Scripture that “The heavens are telling of the glory of God and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands” (Psalm 19:1).

I don’t know about you, but it grieves me that the United States government is using my money to fly to a different location (another planetary system) in order to “prove” that God was wrong and His Word is mistaken! Who do these pompous individuals think they are to oppose the Creator and Sustainer of this earth?

Sadly, all of the people who spend our money and seek to prove that God was wrong will be dead in a few years. They will be proven wrong and their bodies will be moldering in the grave. But in the meanwhile, think of all of the wickedness that they are promoting with their vain imaginations! Think of the professors, teachers, authors, and others who promote anti-God imaginations!

We hope that you and those you know will renounce this evil idea and solidly promote the Biblical account of creation!
